Shot this and straightened. Put it through NIK Sienna in Colour Efex. Used a gradient, texture overlay and added some film grain. Maybe some of you might want to try some fun images and come over to OOTB.:D Used a sheet of 13 x19 Velvet paper curled slightly for the BG. Natural light, indoors.

Hi Jackie, Very creative and I can see alot of thought went into this. I like the sharpness and the texture of the subjects along with the sienna color. There is just enough shadow on the bottom to give the image a base. The only thing I would have preferred is a bit more detail on the rt hand subject. Nice!
Hi Jackie,
Comp is outstanding!....from the bulb laying down to the clove....over to the upright one. 1/2 of the bulb laying down has lost detail in it....lost either in PP'ing or downsizing.....revisit that and this one will shine!
Lost the detail on the RHS on purpose, obviously not working. Will go back in and rework. Was going for high key and an old photo look. Will try to get maybe just a hint of an edge. The original has lots of detail. Thanks for the comments.
Hey Jackie,
I did get the faded photo look......maybe it's just that I love the LH bulb and clove in sepia so much! Do a combo and repost! One with just a hint of detail....one with a bit more....and one with lots! I think that will be a good leaning tool for all!
Will do Roman, and it will be a learning curve for me too. Will do it tomorrow. The reason I lost the detail is because I thought the comp was too centered and thought I would get the attention on the LHS as per the rule of thirds, more or less.
Well I figured out that the Sienna was causing the loss of detail so changed the blending modes in various layers to darker modes. Didn't have time to add the texture back in so this is what I came up with. Couldn't do it in stages as you see the detail was not as great as I thought. The light was hitting the RHS first when I shot it. Not sure which one I like better. Comments Appreciated.
Hey Jackie,
Not sure what youused in your PP'ing workflow.....perhaps lowering the contrast first on the RH side?.....this may help bring the little extra depth there. I tell you what....that comp is making me want to go out and buy garlic!
Hi Jackie, nice repost! I like the fact that I can now see some detail. I would like to see a bit more but this is definately an improvement.
I like this technique that would probably work well with many simple subjects...
