Greater Flamingo, from the Galapagos. I can't decide if this comp works or not. Slightly overexposed in the camera (don't know why I went to +0.3EV -- have some others at -0.3 that were better) but was able to recover somewhat in RAW. C&C appreciated.

I Like it Bill, I wonder if you added a bit of black to the neutrals if it would improve the look. Just a thought. Beautiful colours on the bird, and I like the eye peeking out.

Sweet image Bill !!! Like the framing, eye position in frame ( right at the intersecting third) and overall feel !!! Jackie's suggestion should increase the contrast just a bit and might be interesting !!! Big Congrats on this one ... and btw ... big contrast to your avatar but I like it a lot also

Thank you Jackie. I'm not sure I can do that with PS Elements 7 -- if anyone knows how, please let me know. I did play around with curves and levels to boost the contrast and darken it a bit. It made the reds pop out too much, so I desaturated them just 5%. I don't know if this is the sort of thing you were thinking about. It certainly makes it more dramatic, if somewhat removed from reality. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Bill...IMO the repost is a definate improvement. Your adjustments brought out more contrast and definition to the feathers. Good lighting and a complimentary backround...

Don't think you can do it in Elements Bill. I tried opening it, bit couldn't assign a proper profile. Curves would probably work but selective colour would really target the range you are looking for. Was going to try a repost but it was way oversaturated. Looks like you are using a MAC?

No. I'm using a PC. I think boosting the contrast, plus jpeg conversion, probably resulted in oversaturating it, although I'm not sure how all of that works. I actually reduced the saturation of the red channel a bit in the repost, but not enough. Also, I'm working in 8 bit, sRGB. Don't know if any of that makes much of a difference.
