    Default BCNH in the shade

This guy is kinda shy and likes to stay in the shadows. I tried fill flash on him and didn't really like the results, so I turned it off and waited for him to walk into a bit of light. Full frame except for a tiny bit of rotation crop.

Shot in the early evening, as the sun was going down. I liked the way the color of the light worked on this heron.

Stunning. Beautifully sharp (maybe just a tiny bit oversharpened?). Great eye and detail. Amazing you could get close enough for this to be full-frame. All I might wish for is a tad more canvas to the right.

It is a good looking bird Kerry Excellent detail and pose Agree on being a little over sharpened ... would also like more room in frame ..the bird could move out of the box :)

Hi Kerry - agree with the above comments - WOW you got close - nice detail throughout and techs look solid.
    A little over sharpened perhaps.
    Still very very nice :)

Hi Kerry, I like the image and agree with others comments. Would of preferred a bit more room in front of the bird.
The lighting is soft and even and I like the very soft spotlight look to the head.

Boy you got close. Just looks a tad oversharpened Kerry. I like the bluish cast and the lighting on the face. Nice low angle and neat looking eye.
