    Default Big Mouth Wren?

This House Wren "owned" this post. His vocal antics were a real display. Like other wrens, their vocal output-per-pound is unmatched in the songbird world. I caught this guy while on a photo trip on the Carden Plain in central Ontario, Canada this summer.

Dan - These little guys sing from dawn till dusk in my yard. You actually caught one in at a unique angle, basically straight on, which really evokes the concept of wrens being so loquacious, melodically speaking. I think a point less contrast might suit my taste a little more on this one. I might as well tell you that you are likely to hear about the out of focus branch coming toward the camera. Artie used the word "horrifying" the last time posted one like this, but I still love him!:)

Yikes! You are right about the oof branch Danny. Hopefully Artie is stuck in the jungle for another few days!

A repost - with some Ps work to eliminate oof branch and to reduce the contrast a touch. I find all my posts appear darker on BPN than on my monitors. Must plan ahead!

Much better without the OOF branch, but I liked the bird better in the OP. Hilarious, VWD.

Looking better without the OOF branch. Like the detail & colours inside the beak. Great BG too.

Good job with the OOF branch, Dan. Some more sharpening on the bird but not quite as much as in the OP would be good. I would keep the sharpening off the perch as it is looking "crunchy" in the original.

Super comp, and I like the eye contact, and that we can see his last meal. ;) Its always great when one gets a beakful. Good job on removing the OOF branch, and agree sharpening between the two posts.

Great job on removing the branch - the Artie comment made me laugh too :D
I rarely see our wrens, but boy do we ever hear them...;)

Like how much cleaner the second post looks. Like the open bill and the way the bird is looking directly at the viewer.
