Great set-up Joel, and the BG even matches the bird! Nice and sharp, good HA. Well done!

Hi Joel - Love the BG - Good pose and HA And nice use of flash. Lots to like here.

The only thing that bothers me is the darker area around the head - almost likes look a large halo - could be shadow perhaps - does distract a little.
    Good show :)

Hi Joel, the overall image is very well handled. The birds positioning, sharpness,HA,backround, detail and lighting are all there. I also question the darker area around the birds head. Was that caused by PP or was the darker area there?

There was a distant tree trunk in the BG that created the dark area, I was in a blind and couldn't change my position, it lined up perfectly (and unforntunately) with the bird's head! You can see how it continues below the body, maybe some judicious cloning and patching can remove it.

    Thanks for looking and commenting.
