lovely detail and nice hues in the background--it seems hard to go wrong with these flowers sometimes. They are so lovely. Personally I think I might frame it a bit tighter, but that's personal taste.

Lovely exposure. Loved the subtle natural colours. The textures in the outer petals are lovely.

    Hi Dawn,

Yes, they are photogenic.................I did some darkening of the background to help pop the image.
Tighter crop, do you mean more square?

    Thank you for the feedback.

Jay, the exposure and light look great!
I think taking a slice off the left so there is more space on the right than on the left would be the way to go.

Yes, I was thinking more square--it seems to fit this image.

Yep, the repost is a definite improvement. Once again, it's the tiny changes that take a very strong image over the top.

I think the only thing that would have made this even stronger would be to have had the leaf in the BG lower in the frame so we got all leaf and no stem. It doesn't look like that angle was possible in this case but it sure would have been nice to see the whole BG as a sprawling lily pad leaf!

Beautiful texture and detail in the flower, Jay. I love how the pink light fades into the green on the lower leaves. ;)

    Julie,

Yes, I couldn't get the entire leaf in the BG and preserve the perspective on the flower. Thanks for the feedback. Jay

    Hey Jay,
The light is fantastic and the repost takes this up yet again. Did you try darkening or removing the stem of the leaf altogether? If you are ok with such things.....this will be the final touch IMO. Very well done!

    Roman,

I'm OK with it, I'll give it a try.

    Thanks,

Lovely! The colors, light, textures, details are just right. Great capture of a beautiful flower. The only distraction for me is the URC, but i think others have commented.
