Hi Richard, Great pose, lighting and detail.
A few things..the image looks a bit oversaturated and I would have given it a bit more room on the bottom.
There are some bright areas in the backround that I would either remove or tone down....

Thanks Dave. I'm getting used to my new Cintinq monitor and the contrast and colors are much more muted. Sad to say I don't have any more room at the bottom. Back to the Everglades.......

Hi Richard Did you set up the monitor?

Agree on Dave's comments !! .... room at bottom is easy to come up with

Hi Richard - love the detail - agree with Dave some more room at the bottom - BG is what it is.
    Good show :)

Love the pose and the repost Richard. Something must have caught his attention, I always see them looking down. I am wondering about the log at the bottom:D

Beautiful green Heron who is by nature a very shy bird - please tell me how you toned down the background Richard? Many thanks Pauline

Pauline, I've been using Lightroom 3 more since it came out. I used the select tool in the hue/saturation section. Pointed to the bright colors and dragged it down. it works great. I also burned in the bright yellow spots a bit in CS5. Very simple.....

Thanks Richard - my Lightroom 3 is on order so I look forward to trying that out as often the background can be too glaring compare with the subject and this could be useful. I loved your Green Heron. Regards Pauline
