This male Lesser Goldfinch was photographed last February at a set up with thistle seed in my backyard. Camouflauge netting was used to cover me, my tripod, and my camera.

Looks great, I like the look-back pose, light, sharpness and BG. I'm wondering if the cones are too big for some, but I like it as it shows the size of the bird well.
Hi Aidan,
I like the composition and the background is very lovely. The view of the back with nice head turn displays the bird nicely. For a set up, the cones might be a little big for this bird but, I think they help provide a sense of scale. Therefore, I think the image works as presented. Did you try any other perches or take any verticals?
Thanks for sharing.
This is precious, Aidan. I had the same initial though as Axel about the cones, but they do give you a great sense of scale and good framing for the bird too. Neat image, congrats!
Alan Murphy-esque right down to the over the shoulder pose....
