    Default Stalking Leopard

Captured this image in Kgalagadi last year. The Leopard stalked a Steenbok but was unsuccessful in catching it. Very low light as the sun had already set behind the dunes.

Image is sharp where it needs to be. Really like the implied motion with the leg blur. Just enough room in front of the leopard though I would have liked a bit more. Very strong image....

Quite remarkable given the low shutter speed and high ISO, more space in front might of helped but is is still very nice indeed.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I don't have any more space in front.

    Hey Hendri,
I'm a tight cropper....so fine with space up front! I do llike the fact that you don't have any of the grass in the eye....huge bonus points!! I might also have to point to this image for the naysayers of the Mark lll and the 100-400 ;)......seems to have worked perfectly here....even with all the techs working against it! My only suggestion for you to explore....go even more pano. Fro me, a crop off the top (just below the black/darkest branch on the left just accentuates the line of the leopard! Just some food for thought for you to explore as this one works for me as presented too! VWD!

On the move with a sharp catch of the face -- nice. I like the color/light combo here too and man, he is intense. Good one.

you know I like this a lot my friend...not just because I've yet to encounter my FIRST Kalahari leopard  but also because of the techs, sharp face and implied motion here. kudos!!

Like the sense of motion and the fact you kept the eyes sharp. Like the color of the surrounding dirt as well.

A great stalking pose, the raised rear leg with just the right amount of blur to imply movement and sharp where it needs to be, well done Hendri.

Well done with those techs. The face is sharp and there's a good show of movement.
