Well, lots of people over here in India start bird photography with kits like 1000D + 50-250, 300f4, 400 f/5.6, or D3000 with Sigma 150-500 etc. So this gives more options...

This is being thought of as a D40 clone, it'd be nice if this had the 1/500 sync speed too!

... Hi Desmond .. you need to wait for the 189.7 MB sensor ... stick a 35mm lens and all those swallows will be toast :D ... the day will come !!!!
