This picture was taken over three years ago, and my equipment as well as my skills were somewhat inferior to today. I think I had been "doing bird photography" for about a month. I hope this image of these small shore birds makes an interesting (but not uncommon) pano. The crop is minimal; the time was early morning; the weather was perfect. Please bring on your nits, so I can learn from this old photo.

Very interesting image, out the box, if I may say it and very pretty. I feel that if you have more room on top, it would improve the image, the little mound on left needs more breathing room.
    Well seen!

Fabs, thank you . . . and I do have a little more room, so I will implement your suggestion. By the way, I'm really happy to report that the "instant email notification" worked again for me for the first time in quite awhile. Yeah!

Good eye! Love those reflections. I also like the wide, thin format and would preserve that. To give the
mound a little more room, I would pull that down rather than raise the ceiling.

David, I'm torn between raising and lowering the "ceiling" -- interesting opposite solutions offered.

    Judy: 'preciate your looking.

Ain't no "right" answer, of course, but I'm looking at it this way: 1) the line of birds (and their reflections) are placed about right, to my eye, between the top and bottom of the frame. If you raise the ceiling, they'll be proportionally a good deal closer to the bottom of the frame. 2) The amount of air above the dirt seems about right, except where the peak gets a bit close to the top. If you raise the ceiling to compensate for that part, the rest of the ground (to the right) is going to have a lot of air above it. Hence my suggestion to just pull the mound down a bit.

Works well for me. Like the pano crop. Some good suggestions above.
