    Default White-Breasted Nuthatch

I created this image last March. Dan Cadieux and I were out together and we happened upon some friendly but very fast nuthatches. I would have liked a little more catchlight in the eye but my flash was re-charging.

Cropped from landscape format (~ 40% of full frame)

Model - Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
    ExifOffset - 196
    ExposureTime - 1/320 seconds
    FNumber - 8.00
    ISOSpeedRatings - 400
    FocalLength - 500 mm

Beautiful image Stephen with excellent exposure and nicely framed. The detail is good and you have a great BG . Very fine work and thanks for sharing.

Very nice pose and BG. I would of love to see this one with a little fill flash.

    Keep them coming!

Great detail. Are these guys ever right side up?? The slight head turn is nice, but a bit of catchlight in the eye would be nice.

    Sweet, Stephen!

If it's OK with your ethics, I'd paint a faint catch light in the eye.

Thank you Judy, Gary, Maxis, Ed, Fabs and Bill. Fabs I may try dodging the existing faint catchlight a bit to see how it goes.

I remember that day, the same day and place where we found a very cooperative Pileated Woodpecker. The faint catchlight is certainly dodgeable and worth it. Nice classic pose by this fella!
