Ah the perfect place to post a shot from my recent visit to the Formula 1 racing in Montreal.
This was a dream come true for me and my first attempt at photographing race cars.

Loving the new site by the way, havent logged in for about a week so pleasant suprise. Nice one!
Must have been exciting Jamie and looks like you had a great seat for the race !! Neat view of Sebastian's Renault !!! .... I think like for the planes playing around with the shutter speed makes a difference, I like having the sharp car and blurred tires !!!
i'd love to attend one of these just to hear that high pitch roar! i always watch F1 on sunday mornings. there's just something about those cars that get my heart pumping. i agree with al, you had a nice vantage point to get this super image. thanks!!
Thanks, it was heaven spending 3 days watching these cars. Been to a couple of races in the past but not Montreal and not since getting into photography.
Very easy to get carried away with shooting and I was using my 7D on JPEG mode and filled 2 8G cards :) Doesnt seem like such a good idea now having to edit them all but I am finding some gems so might post another soon. I am happy with the results.
I was also thinking the I could add a touch, maybe 1cm extra to the left. I have a bunch to crop and cant quite decide on where to place the car. After a few attempts I'll find the best fit.
Thanks for the comments and I'll post some more sometime soon.
Fabs, they certainly do, I got so immersed in taking picture I forgot to wear my ear plugs for one practice session but the noise was fantastic. The latest 2.3 V8 is not as loud at the old 21000rpm 3 litre V10 though.
