    Nice forum, should be fun.

This is a shot of the last launch of the shuttle Discovery.

    Love the war birds.

Thought I'd add this which is a present/future rush. If you've been there, for any of the flights, you know the feeling.

    Enjoy!

Mark, I knew you would be here! Nice bit of history you have captured.

Thanks for viewing and comments Kerry. Appreciate it.

Yes, unfortunately all my EAA shots are slides, so I will have to scan them. Will be back with a few later, and anything else that comes along. Maybe a few shows of the speeders on I-95 would work too! :D

Thanks Tim, No, no fill needed, the sky lights up very nicely around the pad. Just a good lens and a steady tripod, though the earth shakes when it goes off! ;)

Thanks Harold. Given the 300mm/2x. Wish I had one of those 800mm that you guys are lugging now! But it worked.

Yes, that was the last launch at about 6:30 A.M. before the light broke. We shot from the cruise ship docking area. Plenty of people around. Sorry we didn't bump into you there! :D

Thanks Alan and Fabs for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

Yes, it was and is an awesome sight, which unfortunately will end in the last two flights next year. They have postponed the next launch until February, if you have any vacation time! ;) But get your reservations early as it gets very crowded there and it is almost impossible to get the closeup tickets as they go in less than a minute and are now on a lottery system that ... well, I'll just say is almost impossible to get through. I've tried for the last five or six launches. :( But there are plenty of viewing points around the water if you have a big enough lens. 600mm minimum in my view. Would love to have had an 800 with a 1.4. But ...
