Nice catch of this old warbird! A slower SS (1/320 - 1/500 max) would allow for a small arc of propeller blur which appears much more natural. Using a slower SS certainly requires good panning technique to maintain sharpness so, as usual, it's a trade-off. Very nice!
Yeah looks like a better angle then the previous shot, again assuming it was quite some distance off. Do like the B24, yet to see one fly seen statics but not quite the same :)
Agree that a slower SS would help the image, however I suspect you were prob in Aperture prio mode and shooting birds at the time ;)
that's a beautiful old bird. never seen it up close. always far away and never photographed it. we gotta remember that slower ss for the prop planes!! makes sense!!
I have to agree with the others. Slower shutter speed is needed, but otherwise a great shot.
One of my first attempts at shooting warbirds, at the EAA in Wisconsin (before Oshkosh), I did as you did the whole afternoon. I got good images, but they looked like the models on my ceiling, when I was a kid. Shot about 6 rolls that day and ... not too happy with the results, though the image turned out.
