These Northern Gannets spend a lot of time grooming each other, both as a social behavior as well as a functional one - getting rid of the lice that free-load on them. One such object of their grooming, a small dark spec, can be seen on the left ear of the "groomer".

This is a lovely shot, Dan and I especially like the sea of gannets in the background. Gannets have such strange eyes - kind of prehistoric.

    Dan:

Good exposure, sharp, nice interaction and information.
I wish at least one of the birds was turned towards us more.
I find the eye peeking over the neck of the right bird just a bit distracting, but do like the overall 'gannet' background.
    Cheers

I'll echo Randy's comments here. Nice exposure and sharpness...just would like to see more of an eye from one of the birds. Nice image overall.

Lovely interaction, also wish for a head turn so we could see the beautiful eyes better.
