    Roy,

    Good image, nice and sharp and a killer BG on the RHS. IMHO I would try a different crop if you have the space. I would move the bird more to the left, removing a lot of the tree trunk and giving more of that lovely BG. It might look a little off as the bird it facing the LHS and it would seem logical to have more room on the LHS but I think the trunk is distracting and showing more of the RHS BG would improve the image. Or if you have a lot of room then just zoom out and see what that looks like

    Hi Roy - do agree with Michael's points will also move the bird out of the centre a little.
    Sharp as a tack and exposure looks good.

    I agree with the post above. Isn't amazing the perfect whole he made. About har far away was this bird??

    Hi Roy, agree with the crop suggestions and like the angle taken. The backround has some variation but nothing to distract from the subject. Good,even light and sharp...nice one!

    nice light and good detail!! i really like that bg and would crop as suggested to show more of it. good show here, roy!!!

    Vince, I would guess about 30 feet, and we too remarked on the perfect hole they made. Almost all the flicker, woodpecker and sapsucker nests were in aspens.
