Incident metered
I thought it interesting that this OC chick was looking for a meal in what I believe to be a least tern egg, which is what inspired the image title.

Good behaviour captured here. This young fellow really does look curious. Adequate low angle. Your position relative to the scene was good, but unfortunately the light angle wasn't as advantageous as it could have been. Some of the blacks could go darker too, with the image a bit washed out. Was flash used? I'm just wondering as the "pin" catclight looks odd and wouldn't naturally be there if it wasn't for flash (with the sun coming from behind the subject).
Bad, bad chick :)
Daniel nailed the critique, I agree that the behavior is very interesting since I had never seen it. I also wonder about the catch light. TFS.
Because I liked the behavior and the conditions were not perfect as the bird never turned into the light while doing this, I added the catch light. Flash was not used, I should have added this info to my initial post. I thought the image was worth saving.
