I tried to smooth out the background, and tried various crops, but decided to leave the bird in the middle to show the flowers, and leave the leaves on the right. I removed an oof branch close to the bird. Comments welcome, and how can I better smooth the oof leaves etc. in the background to the right of the bird?

    Thanks for any help.

Hi richard - did you use any NR on the entire image - bird has quite a smooth look and is lacking in fine detail.
    Large crop?

Lovely bird and the yellows look under control. You could use the patch tool, clone tool, or content aware if you have CS5 to work on the branches.

Hi Richard, Yellow Warblers are beautiful and wish I had a chance at shooting them. Good lighting but agree the bird is lacking in fine detail. If this were mine I would get rid of the branches on the right and play with a crop on the left. Very often it's difficult to get a clean shot in habitat...

    Hi Richard:
I'd like a little more details on the feathers, and a slighty tight crop at the upper and bottom side, but I like the image very much because of the smooth colors and its harmony. Well done!
I'm looking forward to seeing more.

My eyes are pulled away from your very nice subject and flowers by the little branches to the right. I like the leaves to the right. Certainly worth trying to make a few edits on this one. The bird on the flowering perch is so complimentary!
