Another photo from the recent trip to Norway. This was taken up on the tundra on the hills where there was still quite a bit of snow. First time I have seen one of these birds which are tiny and look like a large moth in display flight. Lay down in the snow for this one but don't think the woodland camo clothing helped much!
Taken with 1D mkIV with 500mm lens and 1.4TC. ISO 800 F7.1 +1.3 EV and 1/4000s. Would have prefered a lower ISO but actually glad of the shutter speed as it was like trying to photograph a mouse!
Nicely done Rich. I like the way that the detail comes into the snow with the DOF, it just breaks up the white BKGR nicely. Great detail in the subject.
Apparently we needed white disposable overalls. You live and learn...
Thanks for the comments. I never thought about a white disposable overall which seems a good idea. It would seem a bit strange though wearing a white to photograph birds.
