Again the light was not ideal. Removed some birds from the BG to make it clean. this bird was panting with head up and eyes closed. Is it a keeper or is the lighting too bad and have eyes closed?

It's a shame the light was so harsh and the eye is closed because the detail is fabulous. These are such beautiful birds, we don't have them in Florida. One of these days I've got to see them. Maybe you can get there again and capture it in better light. Is that a chick under Momma?
Hi Michael - my fav birds - have them here in OZ as well and the oNLY mainland breeding colony about 2 hours from were I live :)
If you are close to these guys then I would wait for better light and have another go - prefer the eye to be open.
Better light will improve it 1000% - get the sun at your back if possible - know only to well in these circumstances thats often impossible - otherwise a OVERCAST day is your best friend!!
Thanks for all the comments and Richard it is a small chick under the mamma. I live about 1 1/2 hours from these followed by a 30 minute boat trip. can only access the place between 11am adn 430pm so never ideal for lighting. Will try to get there in the next week or so in better light.
Hi Michael, good job in PS with the image telling an interesting story. Agree on lighting, eye and HA. Might have given it a bit more room in the rear...
