    Hi
This image was made at about nine pm while we were cruising along the Kinabatangan River, Sabah. This individual sat calmly while we tried to photograph it using a combination of torchlight and flash. My first attempt at night photography. Your comments will be much appreciated!

An excellent opportunity and you have made the most of the difficult situation. Using 'Hue and Sat' in Photoshop will put just a little more in the green BG foliage behind the owl and making a QM selection of the foliage around the owl will allow you to darken it slightly using 'Levels' - just to even out the balance but still keep the nightime atmosphere. These are only my personal opinions - it's a very good image.

Very interesting bird and very good use of flash as not to make it very overwhelming. Composition and habitat very nice too. Love the look of concentration. Will be looking forward to more night stuff.
