A+ on that one, Al!! The pose couldn't be better if he were seated in a studio. I especially like the subdued background. I generally like more contrast between subject and background, but not here. Very nice!

well, this one should be kept as an example of how much detail you can get with the 1.4x TC!! WOW! that looks perfect! almost has an HDR feel to it!

Hi AL - sure wish our Ibis were as good looking :)

    Nailed it - IMHO

Was hoping to get out today and get s few shots off - but its storming - so bleak its dark still - Have mad a few modifications to my Nikon 1.4X converter so that it works with my 300-800 zoom AND it auto focuss's - cant wait to see if the IQ is still acceptable.

Hi Al. Wonderful pose and handsome capture. Good sharp detail on forehead and eye, and the f/10 worked to keep the tip of the bill (almost) as sharp. David's repost turns it into a true studio portrait. Love it.

Lance - curious to know what you did to the 1.4X. I don't know the speed of your 300-800, but curious to know if the 1.4X can be modified to AF with my 80-400 4.5-5.6. Nikon says it isn't compatible.
