    Beautiful Jan. It looks like he is walking on stilts (which I am sure was not lost on you)! The bright sunlight has caused some harshness but has also given you that sharp shadow which echoes the bird. Very nice indeed.

    Agree on the harsh light and the stilts was the first thing I saw too :)
    Quite an amazing pose. IMO, toning it down a bit may help. I like the shadow too.

    Good advice from Dan and Fabs. I would def. try a small reverse S curve if you haven't already tried to tame the contrast a bit.

    Was the bird landing or taking off?

    Very cool pose. Agree about the harsh light, but at least it's even. Easing off on the contrast and the exposure will certainly help here.

    I too am drawn to the "stilts". Highly unusual pose. Great detail.

    Aside from the technical points allready raised, this is a very interesting image. I am going for a landing shot.
