Default Bufflehead Smiles for the Camera

This little guy flashed a nice smile at me when I photographed him last winter. I tried to get him to say cheese, but that may have been asking a little too much!

Be happy with what you got. It's magnificent. The colors are outstanding. A lower angle would be nice but I know this is not always possible. Still a stunning image.

What a great job of bringing out that superb iridescence Doug. I also love the dreamy water and amusing expression.

Hehehe, a smile it is, love the iridescence and the color of the water. Good head angle and catch light.

    Doug:

Very nice, with a wonderful display of the iridescence as mentioned. It does look like he is smiling.
    Perfect exposure to my eyes.

Might carve a sliver off the top, but very nice as is.

    Cheers

Didn't know that buffleheads smiled, Doug, until now. :D Love this portrait, the iridescence, reflection and contrasting water color. Perfect head angle, catchlight and EXP. TFS!

Man, Doug, you don't see those colors on any other waterfowl. That is awesome.

Gorgeous Shot! As good as it gets with the beautiful rainbow display in the head feathers. Well Done!
