There have been a handful of Lesser Black-backed Gulls in New Hampshire this winter, this one has been the easiest to find on a regular basis, and also the only one that I've been able to get close to.

Hi Jason If you wan to get close to these guys try food !!! Strong motivator !!!!

I like the placement and overall exp Head angle just a tad off and you got a goo looking bird A lower angle would have help the overall feel Did a little change in the color balance There was just a slight cast Also did some work around the eye to make it more prominent the lighten the bird and increase contrast

I like the image a lot Good luck getting close to others !!!

    Hi Alfred,

I really like your re-post, and appreciate the tips. I had tried to get a lower angle unfortunately there wasn't much more I could do in this situation. The birds were out on some ice in a river, and there are walls alongside the river, this was taken while laying on the wall. Any lower and I'd have been swimming :-)

I know what you mean Jason !!!! We always understand that suggestions are not often practical In your case swimming would not be a good thing !!!

For color casts you can place the eyedropper tool over a neutral area. The readings should be close to neutral After a while it is very easy Let me know if I can help !!!

btw you can also get the balance using third party software I like iCorrect Lab Pro Neat !!!!

Hi Jason, other than a lower angle(no swimming), this is really nice.
Super tips and repost from Alfred
