I picked a bunch of wild blueberries and held them in my hand to create this shot. Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!

    Aperture priority mode, pattern metering
Processed in PS CS2; cropped, curves adjustments, converted to B&W, some noise reduction, cloned out a few spots in the BG, and lightened the BG to give it a high-key look

I like the narrow DOF that covers the first blueberry, personally I would have placed them on another "platform" and i would not have converted the blueberries to black berries -but that's just me - no imagination!:)

Yum. They look good enough to eat. Nice image! Your hand provides a nice texture. I like the dof. I, too, wonder what it would look like in color, but perhaps the BG was distracting.

    Hey Christopher,
Personally.....I really like the conversion! As you know, I generally prefer more DOF.....in this case, it would have hurt the image! You nailed the focus where it needed it and the falloff is just right. The high key look and osft edges just put this one over the top for me. Very well done!!!

I like it as is, also...the dof is perfect and I like the conversion. I might have toned down the flash highlights a bit but I still think you found the best way to present blueberries!

I like this image a lot, and it was a close second for the winner.
