I fully intended to post this afternoon but I ended up going to watch the fireworks in Alexandria Bay, NY.

The eagle image came from a recent trip to Manitoulin Island, Ontario. The flag is from the Royal Palm Visitor Center at Everglades National Park. The image of the Declaration I scanned from a replica copy I bought on a trip decades ago to Philly..layered the whole works together in CS3 using various blend modes (I honestly don't remember which exactly) and then hit it with a Nik FX filter. The vignette is also from Nik FX.

I hope all my American friends had a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Thank you John, I wish you the same! Nice composite work and base image of the eagle. Thank you so much for posting here in OOTB!

Agree with above that it is a very nicely done composite. Love the eagle (pose, expression, wing position). Little details, like the vignette and monocromatic feel, make it special.
Appreciate the work/time involved in creating the image for US 4th.
    Thanks for posting

Very inspirational, John! Isn't it wonderful when you can take some of your images and combine them into something totally different? Nice work here!

Excellent composite, John! Very inspirational. :) All the elements work together very well, and I love the textures and toned look.
