Default Interaction: Eagle feeding its chick

Taken May, 2010, outside Vancouver, Canada. D200, 80-400 @ 400, ISO 400. Cropped, but no postprocessing.

I wish I could have gotten higher to avoid having to look through some of the nest clutter. There were two chicks, but only one is visible here. The parents took turns feeding them. This one got the lion's share and the other one was a little more shy about demanding food. Maybe it was full.

    EDIT: Happy 4th of July!

Great feeding behavior and sharply focussed. Looks a little tight in the frame but I suspect you were trying to limit the busy surrounds. Main issue is that the image looks underexposed. A simple levels adjustment to push the sky to white and a slight contrast boost is a start. Posting the image larger would show it to better advantage - up to 1024 horrid or 800 vertical pixels is allowed.

Great repost by TOny, yes the image looked a bit underexposed. Good he'd angle on the parent and awesome feeding behavior. Nests tend to be hard to photograph because of the clutter.
Thanks for participating in the project!
