    Default Interaction: Love

I'm not given to anthropomorphising animal behaviour but I'll make an exception this time! Made at Shediac Marina Common Tern colony.

I cropped leaving 70% of the image behind. Dodged the shadows on the birds a bit. Sharpened. The perch is what it is, and the terns really like them.

BTW happy Canada Day and 4 July to all North Americans.

Wow, that is a special pose. Love the interaction you captured, and the great plumage details. Looks like the light was just perfect to show all the colors in these birds. A perch like this is tough, but it's hard to argue when the birds choose it as their favorite spot. Nice work John!

Cool interaction and while we are anthropomorphizing nice way to take the other bird under his wing. :)

Exposure and BG look good, too, the perch is what it is.

As above :) You did a much better job with the perch in this one. But unless it is stuck in way cockeyed it needs some rotation.

Really nice John. I'm glad you caught the gleam in the top bird's eye. Great lighting, BG and exposure.

    First- Wow!
the BG is just perfect i love the way it blends in colour with the birds but the birds are still clear and sharp from the BG, the um"pose" of the birds is a moment captured to be proud of. very well captured.

This is lovely, love the details in both black and white and how I can make out the eye clearly. Give me a warm feeling to see one bird shelter another with its wing.

Very sweet and heart warming. Love the gradient in the BG and the bit of green in the perch makes the red of the bills and feet pop nicely. Lots of diagonals in the comp and soft light and catch light in the eyes. A wall hanger.
