Hi Jason - Like the open beak pose.

Check your histogram - the whites on the top of the head are over! Might be able to recover them in RAW conversion. turn your over exposure warning on in camera and Make use of your histogram on the camera LCD.
You did not say what exposure mode you were using here IF AV should have had some minus compensation dialled in to protect those whites.
    Keep em coming :)

Hi Jason Great comments and agree

Would try a couple of other things, crop wise take some from the back and top. Not sure what lens you were using but going wide open will give you a more natural background. Speed wise don't recommend using 100 for anything but a landscape with not wind !! ... as Lance mentioned the head area should have been blinking !!

For the re post just crop a bit, try filling in the white are with no detail with feathers from others .. using clone stamp at 60%, did a curves adjustment for bringing detail in the feather and smoothed out the bg !! ... oh also lighten up the area around the eye and neck feathers !!! Always a treat seeing a eagle up close !!!

Hi Jason, Al did a great job on the repost by bringing more detail to the head, blurring the backround further and showing a more balanced comp. Nice portrait...
