Hi all, and a happy 4th to those in America.

Here is a Rook taken recently in the early evening sun. I was trying to record them in flight as they were landing but unfortunately the background beyond this grass mound was brightly coloured houses. I therefore had to wait until they were virtually on the ground before releasing the shutter.

    C&C welcome.

    Cheers

Good job on th exposure, and I like the foot up. Just enough grass showing, good BG. I'd prefer a thin black border around the image rather than these thicker ones top and bottom.

Nice pose, good clean BG and HA. Great effort getting this scittish species on camera! I think this could be better without the black frame as Daniel suggested and with a little less space on top. Also if this were mine I would probably increase the midtone contrast a bit more with an S-curve. Thanks for sharing!

Angle, iridescence, walking pose, BG and sharpness look very good. I might put the bird a tad higher in the frame and agree with Daniel regarding the black lines.

I like the DOF here and the pose. Good job on exposure too. Well done Austin.
