    THis is my last night in Lac Le Jeune. This was taken earlier in the day at an ideally situated nest cavity.
    Nikon D300S
    500 F4 with 1.4 TC
    ISO 800
    1/640 sec
    F 6.3

    Hi Roy - love the action - looks like the point of focus might be off - on the tree maybe??
    Bird looks quite soft - not enough SS to freeze the action quite possibly.
    SS is a little slow at 640th for the focal length you were at also - so maybe a combination of things leading to the softness.

    Nice action you captured here, love the wing spread and the ready to land feet. You probably need more SS for bird in flight.

    Thanks Lance, it actually looks much sharper, jpeg must be the fault.:D I focused on the far left edge of the hole. They were very obliging and came in the same direction all the time.
