Your recomendation about monitor calibration software
Hello everybody!
I am another happy user of Windows 7 but now my monitor colors are horrible, I have tried, with no success to correctly calibrate my monitor but I can't find the right software yet, any suggestions? your help is very welcome. :)
Juan,
You need more than just software. You need a device that reads the colors off the screen. There are several to choose from. Not sure what would be available in your area, perhaps all of them.
Juan Carlos, you might e-mail Monica (sorry to others; a photog friend of ours here in Costa Rica). She has the Spyder I think so she could give you feedback. In fact, she has brought it to calibrate my monitor and it has worked well.
Well, I was able to more or less calibrate my monitor finally today (thanks RN Clark for the links!) and thanks Greg for the suggestion about e-mailing Monica. I will have to do it one of these days. It sounds like Spyder is good hardware Doug!
I've been plying around with the software that RN Clark suggests (http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html) and I recommend it, just make sure to download the newest version, I think it is 3.0.0.1. What a difference it does! and it's free. I did read the whole document and I can say that I learned a lot about how to calibrate a monitor and interpret gamma, contrast and brightness. I you wish you can download the software directly here:http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...load-8894.html.
Good luck.
