Hi Bill, I don't think think the heron looks too dark but I think the background might be too light. If that were toned down some I think the bird would look more natural. Hard to tell about the head angle, but is he looking slightly away?

Heron does not look too dark - I was wondering if it looks a little over sharpened.
Hi Bill, To my eye the exposure looks good with a HA that doesn't bother me. I might crop some off the top.
I like this one, Bill. Bird doesn't look to dark to me, nor does bg look to light (almost high key). I like the pose. To my eye the head angle isn't bad; just that the bird is focused on something other than you, which I like. Maybe a bit off the top.
Hi Bill....loving the pose...i don't think he is too dark.....but somehow the bg doesn't work for me!
Appreciate the comments, and I now agree the bird is not too dark, however the background being a sold gray is still problematic. Going strictly high key, making it pure white, is my inclination, but I am a high key enthusiast, and I do realize that not everyone is. regards~Bill
