    Hi Eric,

Impressive first post, what a bird!
The only thing I can suggest is a bit more room at left and bottom.

    More, please :)

Beautiful bird and image Eric. I have a bit different suggestion on cropping.

Bottom - I am OK with it as is though a bit more would be OK.
    Left - More room.
Top - Less room. Too much negative space.
Right - I like the BG grass/flower stem/or whatever it is. I would give that a bit more room so it is not so close to the edge. Of you could clone it out if that is not something that bothers you.

    Very nice first post.

Beautiful image Eric . I agree about the cropping . It is very tight on the left and bottom and I do think a little more on the right would give the vegetation a liitle more space. I personnally like the plant and think it is a lovely bounus to this creation. Thanks for sharing !

To add to what others have said regarding composition, I'd like it if there were more details in the blacks on the feathers in the neck. Would it have been possible to use some fill to help with that? that OOF plant behind the bird and to the right is also a little bit of a distraction.

    very good shot, indeed.

I have experience with supertelephoto canon lenses, excluding this one.
I intend to get one this spring, can you share some thoughts about it?

    Thanks

Very nice image, Eric. I agree with Robert's cropping suggestions. I hope to see more of your birds from South Africa.
