Default Merops apiaster - European Bee-Eater

    Species(Tn/Eg/Pt) : Merops apiaster - European Bee-Eater - Abelharuco

    Camera: NIKON D300S
    Shutter Speed: 1/320 seg
    Aperture: f/8
    Metering: Center-weighted Average

Based on some very useful tips from this forum and trying to achieve the best head angle possible, last Monday I went outside to photograph bee-eaters and this was one of the pictures I liked most.

Thanks for letting me share it with you.

    My best regards,

    Filipe Caetano.

Good-looking specimen, good light, BG, sharpness and the open beak adds to it. I might go for a slightly wider crop. Thanks for sharing!

BTW, vertical images should not exceed 800 pixels.

Thank you Axel and sorry for exceeding the size of the picture. It will not happen again.

beautiful perch, BG, sharpness and open beak is a plus! I wish you had popped the ISO and closed the aperture for more dof so that the tail would be more in focus.

Lovely light and colours. Agree regarding some more DOF.

Perfect pose and BG to go along with a sweet BG.
Only wish for a bit more DOF so the whole tail would be in focus.

A beautiful shot with great colors and BG. I like the open bill. I agree with Arash about more DOF. The 300s works great at least up to ISO 800.

Beautiful bird, pose, bg, and light. This image has it all. The colors are fantastic.

The background colours compliment the bird very well which you have photographed in an attractive setting. Excellent detail and colour here. It always difficult getting enough DOF for those 'from behind photos' when the bird is at close quarters. It would have been nice to have had the tail more in focus.

    Cheers

    Rich
