    Default Piping Plover chick

I added the Topaz Simplify filter to this. I left the added space to add to the feeling of being small in the surroundings. These little ones are so tiny and cute. I was hoping that the BG color would bleed into the page color with out any separation-that is why I didn't add a 2 pixel black border.

Very nice composition, Denise. Nice posture and I like the painterly effect of the filter... it works well here.

I like the softness of this, Denise. The comp and pose of the little guy are great. Nice job with the simplify - just enough, I think.

I love these chicks too Denise. Good action captured because they almost move at the speed of light! When I was babysitting them one of them got within three feet of me and looked up as if to say "I'm never leaving"! They had round the clock surveillance and I think they loved the attention!.....and these guys can motor!

Jackie, I just love these little ones! If you ever do that program again please keep me in mind. It would be awesome. They are super fast.:)

What a beautiful image, Denise! I love that you left him small in his surroundings - it adds real scale to the image. I also wonder what it would be like with him on the near corner at the right of the frame with the whole left side ahead of him. Excellent as is, though. ;)

Beautiful image, Denise. That chick is just too cute! :) I love the running pose and composition. Nice painterly look to this, though perhaps a tiny bit softer than I would like. Would also like to see a little more life in the eye.

Aww, mega cute! Love the Simplify treatment and the blending with the bg. Maybe just a touch of USM?

Hi Denise, the chicks have hatched at one site, with eight eggs. Four have hatched, and the others any day now. I am not sure about the other site. Will have to google it. It is quite a drive from where I live so might not be a viable option for you. I'll keep you updated on the progress. When I did it two years ago out of eight chicks at our site only one made it:(.

Denise, he's so adorable - looks like a long legged colt:) I like the dreamy feel to the image.
