    Hi Grahame,
    Backlit images are tough! Looks like you have some light creeping down the lens barrel on the left.....looks a bit washed out. You have handled the exposure on the backlight well....but the problem is lawys in this situation....getting some light in to the shadow side. Fill flash will work, but many/most times can overpower the subject and eliminate the backlit look. I find reflectors fix that nicely! You can also use a piece of aluminum foil.....even white backer board will work.....just to different degrees! Combining a few can also work. Just some things for you to experiment with next time out!

    Nice composition and I agree that the backlighting just needs some tweaking. If you know how, you might try selecting just the flowers and inversing the selection, then pull the midtones down so the BG darkens.

    Nice composition. Others commented on lighting. Hope to see more.
