I've been going through some older image files and came across this one yesterday. Photographed in December with Jim Salywoda out in California.

Hi Doug, looks pretty good to me. Nice light in the eye, head and body, and still enough detail on the underwings. Nice capture, well done handholding the 600 for this.
cheers
Grant

very beautiful pose and wingspan, but not the best light. Did you pull up the exposure in post? feathers look a bit grainy.

Lovely flight pose Doug with the fanned tail and good detail as well as beautiful eye contact. Very nice timing !!!!
Yes I did pull the exposure up a little. I didn't find the noise to be too objectionable though.

Nice wingspread and comp. Funny how the rachis (stem) of the broken feather is still there!
Doug, Beautiful flight pose w/ the head free and clear of the wing. I like the details and the broken feather adds interest.
Fantastic! You made the best of your "brief" opportunity with this Hawk I sure hope she nests again in the area.
I like the banking pose and nice eye contact. See you soon:)
Hey Doug,
Very cool pose and nice job keeping the head clear of the body. Shadow areas look good on my monitor too and the broken feather is cool to see too!
Didn't notice the broken feather last night. Thanks for pointing it out!

Very nice Doug. I like the flight angle and full stretched wings as mentioned.
