A cuddly and sweet looking American white pelican. All he needs it a bowtie! This is actually a full body shot but I decided to hone in closely so that the details of it's eye were clearly visible. Taken in early morning. Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry- I lost the metadata on this one!

Really nice pose and colors. Looks like the eye could use some sharpening and lightening. There is a good bit of noise in there as well.

    Jim,

What did you do to accomplish that?

    Thanks

Sorry, I was in a hurry and didn't post the steps.

Selected just the eye and added a bit of saturation. Selected a 100% hard round brush just a little smaller than the pupil and filled it in with black (would be a little different with a catchlight on the pupil area).

Then sharpened the eye area 50% .2 radius. I usually do more, but there is a bit of noise there.
Deselected the eye and used a soft edged brush with 30% exposure on the dodge tool to lighten the whole area in yellow around the eye.
