Ring Necked Duck

I managed to get out for a couple hours on Monday. I had never seen a Ring Necked Duck before and one of the local photographers was kind enough to show me where this one was hanging out. Apparently the RND hasn't been seen at this location (Huntley Meadows Park, Alexandria, VA) for several years.

I wish I could have gotten closer as this is a pretty big crop. Looking at the EXIF, I see that I had another 20mm to play with. I was out testing / getting used to the Bushhawk mount and probably bumped the zoom ring.

Hi Jim,
Nice looking individual. The exposure looks pretty good from here and the eye contact is great. Couple of suggestions though: maybe a bit more sharpening as it looks a bit soft (probably due to the large crop), a little CW rotation and maybe a little crop from the top.

I actually rotated it CCW, but I guess a touch too far enough ;)

Excellent exposure on the blacks, and you have brought out that eye nicely. Well done.
