Mike Stern's image took me back into snowy plover images from 2008. I tried post processing this image couple of time in the past but never posted it. Finally summoned the courage. Here is my first attempt. Suggestion on PP are appreciated.

Sid, 200-400 plus 1.7TC and you still got a nice image. Wow.
Did you use beemer? What was the setting on it?

Lovely "lost" look to him. I like the rim light, but I feel it's a bit too reddish?
Of course, I wasn't there to know what it looked like :)

Love the shot a lot Sid! I think you could have gone to a slower shutter speed to gain a greater DOF say at f 11 or 16 and gotten the ridge of sand behind him to have a bit more definition. Some feet would have put this way over the top too. I absolutely love the look and feel of the backlighting.

Pretty amazing effect. I also like the angle and composition. Have you tried to lighten the eye? I'm wondering what that would look like.
