Intentionally composed and cropped tight. I wanted to put the emphasis on the various curves and subtle s-shape formed from the egrets posture. Not the softest light but he didn't strike this pose earlier in the morning.

I never seem to get sharpening for the web spot on but I never try too hard either.

    Comments always encouraged.

I like the detail in the plumage and EXP. Compo does not do much for me, though. Can't put my finger on it, but it does not feel right.

Hi Mike, I really liked the shapes and textures, and the colour, as well as the visible eye. Very unusual and pleasing image. Would like to see the FF shot.

Excellent detail captured in this image Mike with a lovely eye contact and so sharp. It feels a tad tight to me . Many thanks for sharing.

Mike try a cropping the bottom just above the Egrets ankles.
IMO a crop like that would better emphsise the Egrets "various curves and subtle s-shape formed"

Mike, I love the composition and the sharp details. The pose is fantastic! Very nice BG also. I think James makes a good point regarding the crop. Well done.:)
