Mockingbird fledgling

Still finding baby birds everywhere! My wife found this one in the parking lot of the motel where we were staying last weekend. It was struggling to fly and not doing very well. Sorry for the harsh light, it was 11am. The wind was blowing its little feathers around.

Kerry - Like the pose and good detail. Not sure about the leaf on the upper RHS but also understand that you might not want to fool with Mother Nature. Cute little one, hope he caught on about flying.

Hi Kerry, Good record of the little one. I agree on the harsh light and the top leaf. The subject is in a good pose but would have wished for a less distracting backround. I realize it's not always easy to get...

Hi Kerry That is about as good as you can do !! Would lighten the shadow under the beak area and darken the corners a bit to cut down on the bg and focus on the bird !!!

Thanks everyone. Was definitely more of a "record shot" than a beauty shot. It goes in the collection of baby birds for this year, which is growing daily!
