Hi Troy - neat bird - like the BG - COlours look good and nice detail in the eye.
The HAP might bring you in for questioning over this one :)
Looks like the flash might have just given you the catchlight - what mode were you using on the Flash??

I used iTTL FP, I believe. -3EV. Should I have good 1/3 brighter?

Hi Troy - I like the comp of this one and agree with Lance about the colors and detail. Curious if that is the natural BG or if you are blending it or doing something else.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Troy - at that SS and -3EV flash probably had very little impact UNLESS you were close to your subject.
    Better Beamer?

Rachel, BG was white from the white sands. I did curve, levels, B&C, cropping and sharpening applied.

I should have step down the ISO and get half or more less of the shutter speed. Still learning how to use beemer.

    Hi Troy

About the only way you could really tell if the flash did anything is shooting a three image burst then compare !!! I don't think it did anything With white birds I don't like flashing other than putting a catchlight, filling shadows makes the feathers loose contrast !!

... btw I don't fuss much about HA but on this one you are busted big time :D:D:)

Hi Troy, I feel you handled the exposure pretty well but might have been able to pull a bit more detail out of the chest area by compensating. The HA(as mentioned) could be a little more towards the viewer but not bad. Good light with a muted backround...
