Got this one in one of the best shoting places that I have ever been during a three days hollidays in Portugal and can´t wait to return there in july :)
This yellow-legged gull was fighting against the strong winds ascending from the base of the cliff in which I was shooting, the calling of the bird was hardly audible beacise of the magnitude of the sound of waves smashing against the rocks. The nice light of the rising sun enhacing the colors of the bird while the dark, deep blue sea retains part of the darkness of the night.

Coments and critics always welcomed :)

Wow - stunning action and colours! I also love the OOF BG patterning.

Great light, excellent exposure, and wonderful BG!
Flight and head angle are near perfect and the open bill is a big plus.

Might prefer the bird a bit more to the left in the frame and ideally, I wish there was bit less of a merge between the head and the far wing.

Be careful, Juan - after the WC defeat they might not let you back again! :)

Nice shot, might run a NR on the background but I love the wing position and the open mouth.

I love the unusual post and dar colored BG. I may ace placed the gull a bit closer to the UL corner.
    Lovely light too.

Cool pre-diving pose and the exposure adds interest. I might crop it a bit tighter.

    Thanks for your suggestions :)
Here is a new version with different croping and additional noise reduction to the BG
