From the Rodeo the other night waiting for the start tried some different zoom blurs. You can do different types of blurs according to the result you are after, here I wanted the crowd showing better so the start of the zooming was delayed a bit to render sharper ... then a quick and smooth zoom. 70-200 f 4.0 is an ideal lens since it so smooth! .... btw shutter was set at 1/6 sec.

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

I still have no idea how you do these. Great camera control. and do like some of the people in focus.

That's an amazing effect you got there, Al! Might clone out the flash in the car window - everything else is outta sight!

Hi Don Just like I said above hesitate at first the zoom and start at 1/6 of a second. Might be easier taking much longer and placing on a tripod, hand holding does gets trickier !!

okay, thks, as i've never observed this procedure before, is this a fluid zoom, and pan together. Very cool technique for sure. These images are very nice!

Cool idea and execution, I like the combination of motion/beams and definition.

Really awesome image Alfred. Love how all the light beams converge in the center of the car. Really well done . I admire you as you never waste a chance or opportunity Alfred. Love this.:)
