Just returned from Spitsbergen where I had a great time with Jasper photographing a bunch of different species with my newly bought 500mm lens. In 2006 I started nature photography and took my first trip outside of the Netherlands to the same location. Comming back there was a real treat, the highlight of the trip for me was the Red Phalarope which gave us some excellent oppertunities for different shots. I think this is one of my favourites. This beautiful female aloud us to get a nice series of her in warm light, while we were laying in a ditch completely folded in half and handholding our lenses :) I hope you like it.

Wow, what light and what a setting! I am envious. But you took advantage of the situation and created a great image; sharp, perfect EXP, and a killer wing stretch. I'd like to see either a crop from the bottom, or, if there is more, more on top. Actually, the latter would be killer. Love the orange at the base of the rectrices!

Check out the new SONY e-Guide and videos that I did with Patrick Sparkman here. Ten percent discount for BPN members,
love the low angle, crisp details and quality of light here Krijn...agree with more space needed on top (especially since the reflection isn't clear)...should be relatively easy to add some space in PS?
Krijin, Beautiful sharp details and I really like the low angle. I agree w/ more room on top. I like the way the water seems to be stretched out on the bottom.
Just love this one Krijn! Beautiful color and a great pose. Exposure and sharpness are excellent. Another vote for more room up top and a bit less at the bottom.
I loved having you on Svalbard again. And what a great week we had. King Eider, Long-Tailed Ducks, Phalaropes...what more could we hope for? Nice one! I love the pose and the colors here and although it's a bit tight for my taste (I know there wasn't much you could have done about that), it's one of the best shots of this species I've ever seen....(besides the other one you have ;-) ) Keep up the good work buddy and have fun tomorrow....ZEKERHEID! :D
