Another new species found on a recent expedition to Merritt Island NWR, obviously another case of misguided DNA. Wasn’t able to catch an in-flight image and don’t really feel I would want to! I caught him coming down a deep swale that he probably created in the past, to get to the water.

Not much manipulation of this one, primarily color and contrast adjustments along with some cloning to clean up areas.

Enjoy and have a good nights sleep! :D

An odd looking creature indeed! Mark, Did you add the horns before or after the flip? Neat idea!!! I might tone down the wings a hair and smooth some of the clone marks if it were mine.:)Great flip!

Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

Denise, the horns were placed after the rest of the image was finished. Not an after thought, just an after act. ;)

As for monsters, I just got an email from a friend with a photo of a 25 foot gator! Talk about a big one that didn't get away! He was scarier than this, as he was swimming in one of lakes down here!

    Yeah, right. :):) too funny.

Great job on this one. I love the horns. I think the beast is actually the result of a University of Texas Longhorn and a Florida Gator game gone wrong.

:D:D Thanks Mark! I heard that wild things happened at those games.

I don't know how you came up with those longhorns that fast, but you are good!

Thanks for viewing and comments, Patti.

The longhorns are from a Watusi, they have two of them at Lion Country Safari that my wife likes. I shot the image the last time we were there and was going to use the horns for this, but like the Gnu horns better for the gator, due to color and size.

Glad you enjoyed it though! ;)
